Small businesses looking for ways to cut costs should consider switching to internet telephony, according to the Business Startup Community.
Industry experts are expecting the use of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to explode over the next 12 months.
Analyst George Van Horn says "as technology of the product and service improves it's likely that growth will accelerate and businesses will switch to this platform due to the cost savings."
The Business Startup Community says the main area where companies can save money is on telephone lines, as all you need to get started is a broadband connection.
Calls are cheaper as well, and VoIP also enables you to communicate easily and cheaply with colleagues and customers all over the world.
Plus it could help employees to work from home.
