The next government must do more to understand small business and needs to introduce fewer and slicker policies to drive economic recovery according to a new report.
The study by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), said that the government must provide SMEs with the right support infrastructure.
According to the report small and medium sized enterprises account for 59 percent of all private sector employment, over half the UKs economic output and almost three quarters of all net job creation.
The chairman of the committee behind the research also said that the economic future of the UK, and the return to economic growth, depends on the contribution made by UK SMEs.
