Small businesses in Wales have been given a boost after a Welsh Assembly decision to cut business rates for many firms.
The measure will bring Wales into line with England, last week the Chancellor announced that some small businesses will not have to pay business rates from October.
Firms with a rateable value of less than £6,000 will get 100 per cent business rate relief, with a tapered system applying after that.
The Federation of Small Businesses in Wales estimates that half of companies in the country will pay no rates at all.
