Microsoft is set to launch a marketing blitz that will attempt to topple the dominance of search giant Google in the UK.
According to the Guardian newspaper the onslaught will begin with a series of TV ads that will go on air this week, followed by a social media campaign.
The ads poke fun at Google while claiming that Bing will simplify results as well as making them more visually appealing.
But with just 3 per cent of the UK search market compared to Google’s 90 per cent Bing has got its work cut out to make any serious inroads into Google’s market share.
Another headache for the Microsoft-owned search engine are recent claims by the Open Net Initiative that accuses it of censoring search results in the Middle East.
